Aims, contents and method of the course

The course gives an overview on the field of business informatics and introduces some core areas. Its goal is to give an impression of methods and applications in business informatics. The teaching method is that of a classical lecture (=Vorlesung).

* IT based communication
* Philosophy of science in business informatics
* Enterprise modeling
* Data base systems and data modeling
* Enterprise information systems
* Information security

Assessment and permitted materials

A written individual multiple choice exam at the end of the semester must be passed. For participation a separate registration over u:space is needed. During the exam no unauthorised materials are allowed. The language of the exam is German.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

There are aliquot points for rightfully marked answers in the multiple choice test. But if a wrong answer is marked, the whole question is graded with 0 points.

To pass the course, you must have a positive grade on the multiple choice test. To get a positive grade you have to achieve at least 50 % of the available points.

Grading scale:
5 (insufficient): < 50,00 %
4 (sufficient): >= 50,00 %
3 (satisfactory): >= 63,00 %
2 (good): >= 75,00 %
1 (excellent): >= 87,00 %

Examination topics

Basis for the exam are the contents covered in the lecture (=Vorlesung).

The script is only a supplement to the orally presented contents.

Reading list

Additional literature will be announced during the course and is referenced in the script.
