Continuous assessment of course work

Aufgrund der Anpassung des Lehrangebots an das neue Curriculum startet die KFK Business Intelligence nunmehr jeweils im Sommersemester. Daher findet die "VU Business Intelligence I " im Sommersemester und die "VU Business Intelligence II" im Wintersemester statt.

Im Studienjahr 2016/17 kann die KFK Business Intelligence als Übergangslösung für Studierende des auslaufenden Curriculums mit der "VU Business Intelligence II" im WS begonnen und im darauffolgenden SS mit der "VU Business Intelligence I" abgeschlossen werden.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course Business Intelligence II focuses on the following methods
* cross-sectional data analysis
* process mining
* temporal data mining
* social network mining

In addition, the combined application of analysis methods will be discussed based on the following techniques:
* decision mining
* text mining

All analysis methods of Business Intelligence I and II will be applied within a bigger BI project based on real-world data (e.g., from higher education). The focus is on finding relevant analysis question, providing an adequate data basis, conducting analysis and interpreting the results, as well as employing open source analysis tools.
