Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Business Process Management focuses on methodological competences for the analysis, implementation, improvement, simulation and continuous management of business processes. Students, through paradigms and case studies, will familiarize themselves with the latest Business Process Management languages (e.g. BPMN and DMN) and the application of BPM in various domains such as health care, industry, banking, trade market, finance, e-Government, etc.
The main objective of the course is the identification of challenges inside an organization, regarding the business processes and the optimization of these processes. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to recognize the benefits and the profits for the organization upon effective application of various Business Process Management techniques.

Assessment and permitted materials

The performance assessment in the BPM course is based on the following pillars:
1) Written theoretical examination - (50%)
2) Modelling exercises - (50%)

The topics of the above-mentioned modelling exercises will be discussed and assigned within a reasonable time until submission.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The scale of grades as follows:
• 100.00% - 87.00% --> Grade 1
• 86.99% - 75.00% --> Grade 2
• 74.99% - 63.00% --> Grade 3
• 62.99% - 50.00% --> Grade 4
• 49.99% - 0.00% --> Grade 5

Examination topics

The course consists of lectures which provide basic knowledge, in-depth analytical exercises, presentations and case studies.
To be noted that, the content of the discussions during the course will also be taken into account for the formulating of the exams' agenda.
