Aims, contents and method of the course

History and culture of Ancient Egypt from Prehistory until the end of the Middle Kingdom (appr. 5000 - 1800 B.C.).
Development of cultural phases on the base of archaeological sources, monuments and artefacts, occ. including text sources.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic knowledge about development of Egyptian history and culture. Recognition of historical and social processes on the base of archaeological sources. Contextualization of monuments and artefacts in their chronological and cultural frame.
