Aims, contents and method of the course

Identifying and determining of paleolithic and mesolithic silex artefacts (impact features, artifact types, manufacturing processes).

Basic knowledge to recognize different impact characteristics and forming processes ("chaine operatoire").

Theoretical introduction and practical exercises on stone tools.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance, participation, verbal or written performance assessment at the end of the semester.
