Aims, contents and method of the course

Die VO beschäftigt sich - vornehmlich, aber nicht ausschließlich - mit zweidimensionalen Darstellungen (Bildern) des sog. Mittleren Reiches (11.-13. Dynastie). Ziel der VO ist nicht eine chronologisch lückenlose Darlegung der "Entwicklung", sondern punktartige Diskussion verschiedener Erscheinungsformen in Raum und Zeit. Rückgriffe auf den Formenschatz (Kanon) der älteren Epochen, aber auch innovative Neuansätze sowie Konzepte (decorum) sollen besprochen werden.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Die Teilnehmer sollten mit den Grundbegriffen ägyptischer Kunst, Kontextualisierung ("Sitz im Leben") und ägyptologischen Kunst-Interpretationsansätzen vertraut sein. Punktesystem: ab 51% ist positiv.
