Aims, contents and method of the course

The course provides the students with a detailed knowledge of one aspect of the culture of ancient Egypt, with a focus on archaeology, built environment, material culture and art.
The aims of the course are to:
- provide students with the opportunity to study at an advanced level a substantive subject in the field of Egyptology.
- prepare students for research in the archaeology and culture of ancient Egypt.
- to give students training in a range of general skills, such as writing, presentation and data analysis.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment will be based on the following criteria:
- Oral presentation (30%)
- Essay (30%)
- Attendance, draft of the presentation and active participation to class discussion (15%)
- Test on the course content (25%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

At least 50% of the maximum number of points is required for a positive assessment.
