Aims, contents and method of the course

This course presents an introduction to the basics of archaeological prospection methods. Remote sensing (aerial archaeology) and near-surface geophysical prospection methods will be covered. The aim of the course is to convey the fundamentals of archaeological prospection methods, including theory, implementations (no practical exercises or fieldwork in this course), the potentials and limitations of the methods, as well as application examples.
Methods: Practically oriented lectures with clear presentations.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam. Dates and conditions will be announced.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge and understanding of the basics of archaeological prospection methods. At least half of the maximum number of possible points must be achieved.
