Aims, contents and method of the course

The fields communicated during the respective courses deal with groups of archaeological sources which are only made accessible through natural scientific methods ("archaeological science"). Therefore, basic methods and frequent topics are presented for each field, with a clear emphasis on their relevance for archaeological research questions. Case studies from
ongoing research and basic literature are presented.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination (singe-/multiple-choice and text questions) at the end of the semester.
