Aims, contents and method of the course

Bavli Sanhedrin from 90a onward. The text deals in the main with the eschatological expectations of the rabbis and the coming of the Messiah.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular active participation including the preparation of the text.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Getting familiar with the language and literary character of the Talmud and some of its central doctrines.

Examination topics

Common reading, translation and discussion of the selected text.
