Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar will introduce the basic categories of identity as understood with the historical and anthropological sciences, and examine the areas in which identiy concepts and identity theory have been in use among archaeologists. Kinds of identiy examined will include personhood, kinship affiliation, gender, social status, low statuses, including slavery. Kinds of evidence will range across the entire spectrum from artefact studies, iconographic data, settlement, burial and landscape data
