Aims, contents and method of the course

In the course of this tutorial, raw material procurement strategies, processing and discard of Upper Palaeolithic stone tool assemblages will be discussed. Necessary steps towards a fuller understanding of complex archaeological contexts are knowledge concerning raw material analyses and morphological investigations. Additionally, it is necessary to exercise database management, since large datasets need to be handled in order to scientifically present such lithic assemblages.
