Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Objective: To acquaint students with selected source materials and to deal with inscriptions from Ancient Egypt, to assign inscriptions to chronological frameworks.
Content: Various inscriptions are consulted on the basis of publications. Photographic materials, facsimiles or copies are available.
Method: Exercise with compulsory attendance. Individual inscriptions are read on the basis of documents provided via moodle.
Due to the current Covid situation, the exercise will take place digitally until the end of April.

Update May: Due to the current COVID situation, the course will be held digitally until further notice.

Assessment and permitted materials

Personal attendance is required. With regard to active participation, exercises are regularly posted on the moodle learning platform.
Permanent active participation in the individual lessons (preparation according to reading instructions) (30%) Homework (40%). Test at the end of the semester (30%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

At least 50% of the results must be achieved for a positive evaluation.

Examination topics

Content of the exercise. The teaching material for this course consists partly of the course material such as transparencies and partly of the indicated literature.
