Aims, contents and method of the course

The Dead Sea Scrolls are among the most import manuscript finds ever. The provide you with a glimpse of Jewish literature and culture of a epoch we did not know much about before, i.e. the time of the Hellenistic empires. The Dead Sea Scrolls illuminate thus the time which paved the way to Rabbinic Judaism and Christianity. In this reading course you will learn how to read the Dead Sea Scrolls in Hebrew and what they have to say.
