Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on its historical foundations challenges and conflicts of modern societies will be analysed, with specific emphasis on the contribution of a human rights perspective to conflict resolution. Topics include:
* learning and living democracy
* civic and human rights education, didactics
* women's rights and gender equality
* children's rights
* media and politics
* refuge and asylum

PPP: Presentation - Participation - Paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students will be familiarised with topics and methods in the field of civiv education, and understand the contribution of a human rights perspective in dealing with current social issues and conflicts in society.

Examination topics

Input from course leaders; simulated teaching lessons prepared and presented by participants; Seminar paper; refelction paper for students' portfolio
