Aims, contents and method of the course

In seminars we discuss with the students works of literature concentrating on one of the typical prejudices.
1. Shakespeare: Othello (race)
2. Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice (race)
3. Lessing: Nathan der Weise (religious)
4. Schiller: Kabale und Liebe (class)
5. Ibsen: Nora (women)
6. S. Zweig: Verwirrung der Gefühle (homophoby)
7. S. Zweig

Assessment and permitted materials

Students should write a seminar paper for the course about prejudices treated in the book under discussion and to apply the problems raised there to present experiences.
