Aims, contents and method of the course

Quantification and Statistics in historical science using the development of military technology, organization and tactis from the Bronze age to the 21st century

Assessment and permitted materials

Student participation during the course, written 2-hour test

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Applying modern scientific methods on the presentation of historical data

Acquiring basic knowledge on military data, the fundamental characteristics of weapons and their efficiency as well as their historical development and influence on military organisation

Overview of the military history from 3000 B.C until 2000 A.C.

Examination topics

Power point is used to visualise material and statistical data

Students will process selected statistical data as graphs
