Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The objectives are the practical development of in-depth historical work (formulation of historical questions, literature and source research, state of research, scientific writing, citation) from the thematic area of commemoration and remembrance politics, its political history, intellectual, art and cultural history aspects as well as aspects of the history of science. In terms of epochs, we remain in the area of contemporary history (19th-21st century), in terms of space in the area of Austrian History 2 and European area.
Assessment and permitted materials
This is an exam-immanent course, therefore attendance, regular active participation, smaller written tasks (essay on research literature, development of the research question, ...), as well as a written composition and oral presentation of a proseminar paper (Submission of the written proseminar paper by July 15, 2024)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
in general: half participation and half proseminar paper, assessment according to the school grading system from 1-5.
Lower attendance limit (unexcused absences of two units require additional work, more than three units lead to automatic deregistration), lower proseminar paper limit: successful completion is not possible without an oral presentation and submission of a written proseminar paper.
