Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on its historical foundations challenges and conflicts of modern societies will be analysed, with specific emphasis on the contribution of a human rights perspective to conflict resolution. Topics include:

* political system (Austria - EU - international)

* democracy and human rights

* migration and diversity

* women's rights and gender equality

* children's rights in the family, at school, in society

* civil society

* civic education and didactics

One excursion to a human rights institution in Austria will be organised.

Assessment and permitted materials

PPP: Presentation - Participation - Paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students will be familiarised with topics and methods in the field of civiv education, and understand the contribution of a human rights perspective in dealing with current social issues and conflcts in society.
