Aims, contents and method of the course
Based on its historical foundations challenges and conflicts of modern societies will be analysed, with specific emphasis on the contribution of a human rights perspective to conflict resolution. Topics include:* political system (Austria - EU - international)* democracy and human rights* migration and diversity* women's rights and gender equality* children's rights in the family, at school, in society* civil society* civic education and didacticsOne excursion to a human rights institution in Austria will be organised.

PPP: Presentation - Participation - Paper
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students will be familiarised with topics and methods in the field of civiv education, and understand the contribution of a human rights perspective in dealing with current social issues and conflcts in society.
