Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
A unit for practising English writing skills on a selected theme of British Empire history.
Assessment and permitted materials
Final mark based on: attendance (10%), participation in discussion (10%), oral presentation (20%) and Essay (60%). Essay must be at least 12 pages A4, 1 and 1/2 spacing, paginated and footnoted
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students will be expected to research their topic, practise presentation techniques and to complete their written assignment. It is strongly recommended that students consult their lecturer about the progress of their written paper during consultation hours (Sprechststunde)
Examination topics
After 3-4 introductory units, oral presentation of selected theme.
