Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Students are expected to read the texts and historical sources provided step by step on Moodle and to write and submit weekly written summaries (essays) on them. These will serve as a basis for the next session and for joint discussion. Participation in the discussion is also an important part of the course.
An excursion is planned (Vienna, University Church and Old Jesuit College), and participation in this is also compulsory.

The aim is to read and interpret historical texts and historical sources based on episodes from the global history of the Jesuits, which contribute to a comprehensive understanding of early modern history and to the acquisition of basic methodological knowledge.
