Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course introduces methods and sources of global history and global studies in the historical development of the discipline, as well as in the context of modern research. We will focus on the origines of globalization studies in the history of anthropological comparison, in the study of diffusion, evolutionism, world-system and dependency- theories and compare these, mere classical approaches and their long traditions, to current topics and developments in global studies.

final grade will be based on seminarpaper (70%) that can be up- or downgraded by other works.
