Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course will discuss texts on definitions and problems of citizenship in the history of Canada and the United States taking especially in- and exclusions based on class, ethnicity/"race", and gender into account. Students will be introduced to sources and scholarly studies involving aspects of gender, intellectual, legal, and social history.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students will prepare the required texts from week to week and give an oral presentation in English which is to be expanded to a final written essay of about 15 pages (in English).
