Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

* Using available data for the quantification and statistics in warfare from the bronze-age to the 21st century
* Learning basic techniques and practical application of simple statistics using EXCEL
* Making graphical presentations using EXCEL

Assessment and permitted materials

* Student participation during the course
* Written 2-hour test

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

* Applying modern scientific methods on the presentation of historical data
* Acquiring basic knowledge on military data, the fundamental characteristics of weapons and their efficiency as well as their historical development and influence on military organisation
* Overview of the military history from 3000 B.C until 2000 A.C.
* Drawing adequate conclusions and statistical presentation thereof
* Working in teams

Examination topics

* Power point is used to visualise material and statistical data
* Students will process selected statistical data a graphs
