Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on its historical foundations challenges and conflicts of modern societies will be analysed, with specific emphasis on the contribution of a human rights perspective to conflict resolution. Topics include:
* learning and living democracy
* civic and human rights education
* women's rights and gender equality
* children's rights
* media and politics
* refuge and asylum
Objective: Students will be familiarised with topics and methods in the field of civic education and should understand the contribution of a human rights perspective in dealing with current social issues and conflicts in society.

PPP: Participation – Presentation – Paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

*) Presentation of a school teaching lecture
*) Participation in an event related to civic and human rights education and writing of a critical reflection paper,
*) Seminar paper constisting of two parts, a scientific research and a didactic approach
