Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture will trace the development of Buddhism in China, Korea and Japan as well as its impact on material culture. Main topics are the arrival of Buddhism in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD, the popularisation of the religion in China in the 5th and 6th centuries, its spread to Korea and Japan, as well as the development of the religion during the Middle Ages.
