Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Independent induction into the subject of the seminar by help of the semester-apparat and the usual databases and the readiness to participate in the discussion in the seminar are required. This implies the preparations of all participants and for every seminar meeting. During the seminar the participants present and discuss a text with regard to a selection of relevant images. This presentation is prepared in small groups (2-3 People). Written seminar paper (c. 35-45.000 signs incl. blancs and footnotes, excl. appendices) to conclude the seminar.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Development of a coherent question and concise definitions of the paper’s subject; factually precise and terminologically correct analyses/description of the work(s) and accurate references to relevant literature; linguistically flawless form of expression/representation.
Since the literature is mainly in english, very good reading ability is required; as well as the readiness to cooperate in (small) groups also beyond the seminar times.
