Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture provides a basis for the study of Greek culture on the basis of its material evidence. It provides an overview of the relevant questions and approaches. It concentrates on the period from the early Iron Age to the end of the Hellenistic period.

Written examination (written exam) in presence at or after the end of the semester
For students in the StEOP: Joint written examination (StEOP module examination) for this VO and for the two VOs “Introduction to Roman Archaeology” and “Introduction to Late Antique and Early Christian Archaeology”.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Knowledge of the most important subject areas of Greek archaeology as a basis for a more intensive study of the subject area.
Minimum requirement: 50% of the points to be achieved (in the StEOP module examination in each of the three examination parts).
Assessment criteria: Correctness of the answers given in the written examination.
