Aims, contents and method of the course

Instruction in reading and translating Latin. We will work with excerpts from Cicero's philosophical writing.

Assessment and permitted materials

Quizzes; midterms; final exam; oral recitation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

This course aims to give students a more active command of the skills needed to translate Latin confidently and accurately.

Examination topics

Translation (seen and sight); parsing; syntactical analysis.
