Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Basic knowledge of the cultural history of Byzantium, as well as of the discipline of Byzantine studies and its history. Lectures with student participation in the form of discussion and independent work with primary sources.
Assessment and permitted materials
At the beginning of June, eight questions will be posted to help you prepare. One week before the submission date, two of these questions will be selected. You select one of these to write an essay of 1500 to 3000 words (ca. 5-10 pages).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Basic familiarity with the course content.
