Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Nemesios verfasste gegen Ende des vierten Jahrhunderts n. Chr. die erste uns bekannte christliche Abhandlung ausdrücklich anthropologischer Thematik. Er versucht, unter Heranziehung verschiedener philosophischer und medizinischer Schulen, den Platz des Menschen und seiner seelisch-körperlichen Doppelnatur als Mikrokosmos im 'großen Kosmos' zu verorten. Er schreibt über die menschliche Seele, ihre verschiedenen Vermögen und Bestrebungen, ihr Verhältnis zum Körper, über die Rolle des Schicksals und über die menschliche Entscheidungsfreiheit und berührt damit zentrale anthropologische Fragen.
