The seminar deals with the manifold areas if ancient trophe (child are) and paideia (education) on the basis of various written, visual and architectural sources. Thus, the students acquire knowledge about ancient educational practices as well as competences in handling different media and testimonies. The inclusion of different genres and disciplines requires abstract thinking and context oriented research.
