Aims, contents and method of the course

Der Ion des Euripides ist eines der abwechslungsreichsten und turbulentesten Stücke des Euripides. Dementsprechend hat man sich mit seiner Einordnung schwergetan: Ist der Ion überhaupt eine Tragödie und nicht viel mehr eine Komödie oder wenigstens eine Tragikomödie? Welche Zielsetzung verfolgt Euripides mit diesem Handlungsaufbau? Handelt es sich vielleicht gar um einen "Anti-Ödipus" (von Arnim), der die Tragödie mit den Mitteln der Tragödie aufheben will, so dass Nietzsche mit seinem Diktum vom "Zerstörer der Tragödie" Euripides doch recht behalten sollte? Die Frage nach dem Tragischen im Stück soll also bei unseren Betrachtungen im Vordergrund stehen sowie die - damit zusammenhängende - Frage, in welcher Weise das Göttliche und das Heroische im Stück dargestellt sind.
