Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to the connection between humanities and sciences with regard to cultural heritage. History of scholarship. Methods of data capture and documentation. Visual documentation of historical objects. Material analysis of cultural heritage. Practical applications. The course includes colleagues from the Vienna University of Technology and the Academy of Fine Arts.

Conveying a deeper understanding of the possibilities and limitations of computer-generated methods for the documentation of cultural heritage objects, especially written documents.

Presentation of the course content with opportunity for discussion, research-related instruction, work with historical objects, practical exercises.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination (100%). No additional materials may be consulted during the examination.
