Aims, contents and method of the course

Diese LV dient in der Studieneingangsphase der Lektüre eines vergleichsweise weniger schwierigen lateinischen Prosatextes unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Sprache und Stilistik.
Q. Curtius Rufus verfasste (wahrscheinlich) im 1. Jahrhundert n. Chr. eine Art Biographie über Alexander den Großen in 10 Büchern; der Anfang ist nur fragmentarisch erhalten. Der Text ist eine Mischung aus (mittelmäßig gut recherchierter) Geschichtsschreibung und fiktionalem Roman; in jedem Fall aber ist die Darstellung über weite Strecken sehr unterhaltsam.

Assessment and permitted materials

Erfolgreicher Abschluss der LV: schriftliche Prüfung: Klausur (Übersetzung ohne Wörterbuch; Zusatzfragen) zu Semesterende; mündliche Prüfung (Termine folgen). Erwartet wird zudem regelmäßige aktive Mitarbeit während des Semesters.
