Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment includes following components:
Small assignments (survey, research)
Presentation: Solving a (inter)linguistic problem or presenting a phenomenon
Pro-seminar paper (approximately 15 pages); submission deadline: March 17, 2024
Attendance - two (unexcused) absences are tolerated.
In addition, extra credit points can be awarded for voluntary task completions.
All instruments are permitted as aids in all performances. Reference must, however, always be made to them.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Examination-immanent courses from the SPL10 offer are always compulsory to attend. A maximum of two absences is permitted. In the case of weekly courses, it is possible to withdraw without consequence up to the third course unit, in the case of 14-day courses and blocks up to the second date.
Written contributions of all course types of SPL 10 can be subjected to an automatic plagiarism check; this includes, in particular, papers of the pro-, bachelor's and master's seminar level, but also course examinations (e.g. lecture examination) and partial examinations (e.g. intermediate test, 'homework').
Length of theses: Proseminar theses 15 pages main textPoints are awarded for the assessed performances; at least 60 points are required for a positive completion of the course.
1) Proseminar paper: 50 points
2) Presentation in class/online: 20 points
3) Small assignments: 20 points
4) Active participation, attendance: 10 points
Only the overall performance will be calculated. There is no compulsion for all partial performances except the proseminar paper. However, presentation and attendance cannot be made up.A:100 - 92

The course covers the main corpora and corpus tools for German as well as for German as a Foreign (DaF) and Second Language (DaZ), and contrastive language research.
Teaching methods:
Frontal presentations: Introducing individual corpus managers and their work.
Group work: Solving smaller linguistic problems.
Presentations and stations: Presenting research findings on selected language issues, completing small tasks and exercises.
Discussion rounds.
