Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

We shall analize some elements of the history of theatre in Spain, Portugal and the Americas, starting from the Middle Ages (where there are very few traces of theatre activity), passing through the "classic period" of the Golden Age theatre until 18th century theatre with its typical bipolarity between French-type classicist theatre and popular and traditional elements.

Written exam at the end of January 2012

Orientation about development of the Spanish and Portuguese theatres in Europe and America with emphasis on approaches of culture studies and literary communication

Presentation of texts, analysis and discussion
