Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In the course we will deal with - according to the students' interests - selected regional languages of Italy, the socio-historical background and the status quo.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular, punctual (!) Attendance and participation in the course (max. 2 absences).
Presentation (i.e. a report on the progress of the written work), written work of about 15 pages. The introductory thesis can be written in German or Italian and must be submitted by 30 September at the latest.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

All parts of the exam must be positive, i.e. unexcused absences from the presentation are NOT allowed, as well as late submission or too frequent absences. Active participation and active contributions to the discussion are included in the grade as positive.

Examination topics

The topic of the paper is also the topic of the thesis. Normally, there is no final exam.

Reading list

Basic literature: Tanzmeister, Robert: Von den Alpen bis Sizilien. Sprachliche Vielfalt und Sprachenpolitik in Italien. In: Gugenberger, Eva: Vielsprachiges Europa: zur Situation der regionalen Sprachen von der Iberischen Halbinsel bis zum Kaukasus. Frankfurt / Wien: Lang 2003.
Each student deals with their own topic, so the relevant literature is different. Depending on the topic to be dealt with, each person compiles a bibliography of the literature to be considered individually and with my support.
