Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar deals with the varieties of French outside Europe from a predominantly synchronic perspective. After a detailed discussion of the basic terms on the subject, we will deal with selected chapters of variety linguistics - i.e. specifically with some selected varieties of French. The focus will be on both formal linguistic and sociolinguistic aspects.
The formal aspects that are important for writing a scientific paper will also be a topic of the course.

Assessment and permitted materials

The prerequisite for the course is regular, punctual (!) Publication and collaboration. In the course of the semester, a presentation must be given and at the end of the course a BA written in French must be submitted, which must adhere to the general guidelines specified by the SPL (all information on this can be found on the SPL website).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

All partial achievements must be positive (thesis, presentation, participation, attendance) and must be completed independently.

Examination topics

Active participation in lessons, seminar work and presentation.
