Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
You will be expected to
• post three written assignments in the course of the term
• read short texts or watch videos which will be posted on moodle in preparation for each class, prepare small tasks like note-taking
• prepare one short multimodal presentation to share with your colleagues
• participate in synchronous and asynchronous exchange and discussion
Presence and participation in the online meetings is mandatory. You can have one absence (since these are double classes). Please make sure you watch the recordings of any session you have missed and bring yourselves up to date on tasks and readings.

Participation (online participation in live sessions and asynchronous tasks): 20%
Presentation and online discussion: 20%
3 short assignments of 500 words each: 20% each
All these have to be positive (51%). The overall pass grade is 60%.Grading scale:
100-90 Sehr Gut
91-80 Gut
81-70 Befriedigend
71-60 Genügend
59-0 Nicht Genügend

Examination topics
There is no sit-down exam but a number of tasks that are supposed to demonstrate your understanding of the theories and methods covered and the texts read and discussed.

• and become acquainted with some research methods and what they can tell us about readers, reading and the reading materialsIn this online course, we will “meet” regularly on zoom, via a link on moodle, at the stated times. To take part in these meetings, please make sure you have access to a computer and an internet connection that is stable enough to enable as full a participation as possible. You will need a camera and a microphone (inbuilt or webcam) for our sessions, and a headset would be preferable. The meetings will be recorded.
