Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this module, teacher trainees will experience co-teaching as a professional strategy of organising learning effectively in heterogeneous classrooms and implement EFL and CLIL lessons in teams. This involves diagnosing learner needs, planning, teaching, observing and providing feedback on the lessons. They will observe and reflect on the appropriate use of six models of co-teaching and collaborate in planning for differentiation with a particular heterogeneous group of learners in mind. A focus on diagnosis as well as methods and strategies of differentiated instruction suitable for the various co-teaching models will be discussed theoretically and implemented according to learner needs. The course work and school placement will take place in 5 meetings at a bilingual secondary school in Wiener Neustadt.
