Aims, contents and method of the course

With their special ludic and kinaesthetic quality computer games are determining the lives and perceptions of an ever increasing number of people world-wide. In this course we will adopt a broad approach embracing Cultural Studies, New Media Studies, Media Semiotics and Narratology to analyse a fascinating phenomenon situated at the interface of entertainment, popular culture and multimedia art. Assessment will be on the basis of active participation, an oral report and a short written summary.
