This course falls into three parts: introduction to the applied linguistic framework; practical experience in analysing ESP genres; and student projects on specific language aspects of an ESP genre and how they could be taught. This is Course 2 of the module on Teaching English for Specific Purposes, and should be attended after Course 1 ("World of Work").AssessmentStudents have to complete a project analysing one genre of their choice using the methods of computer-assisted genre analysis presented in class. Assessment is based on student participation in class, and the project described above (including oral and written presentation).
