Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Creativity" cannot be taught. Still, "Creative Writing" is a discipline that has its own set of rules and techniques: you may "creatively" write whatever you want … but does it "work" for an audience, even if of only one? … and what about the etymology of "create" and "energy" and "work"?
This course intends to encourage students to trust their imagination and command of the English language in order to produce texts (in a variety of formats, genres and styles). Participants must be prepared to read/present their texts and to have these criticized in class. Publication (printed and/or on the net) of good texts almost promised.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in class and portfolio of texts (tasks/assignments to be agreed upon in the first session).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To help students produce and present "creative" [= non-"academic"?] English-language texts.

Examination topics

Communicative language practice, developing skills and strategies for producing original texts.
