Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation & regular attendance; development of a written project to be presented to the other students in class; written exam.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The aim of this course is to familiarize language students with learner-oriented and process based (inter)cultural learning approaches serving a dialogic agenda.
Examination topics
In its structure, the course is project based with a twin focus on theoretical concepts and concrete examples for classroom use. On the one hand, the projects introduced by the course tutor will be further developed in a joint effort. On the other hand, the students will be working on projects of their own choice.First session: 7 October 2009; Final session: 27 January 2010

" from 'Landeskunde' to (inter)cultural learning,
" integrating language and (inter)cultural learning,
" helping language teachers/students become (inter)cultural mediators,
" discussing different paradigms for cultural learning (e.g. inter- & transculturality),
" structuring experiential learning processes,
" introducing a philosophical concept of dialogue as a central objective for culture and language learning.
