Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Three learning diary entries, two library visits, individual and group online activities for each session in Moodle/Collaborate.
* The “tour” of the English and American Studies library will take place virtually. Your “visit” to another library is likely to take place virtually via its homepage but a physical visit may be possible later in the semester (details in Moodle).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Online attendance (max. 1 absence) – pre-defined group and individual online activities for each session (Moodle/Collaborate) count as attendance.
1) Three learning diary entries relating to sessions 1-3, 4-5 and 6-7 (30% in all, 10.11., 8.12., 2.2.. All three uploads are required even if you missed one of the sessions.)
2) "Tour" of the English and American Studies Library (15%)
3) "Visit" to and report on another library (up to 15%)
Individual online homework activities (up to 40%) must be done in addition to the three named parts. The three named parts must be positive as well as the overall score.
Grading scale: 1 (sehr gut) 100-90%; 2 (gut) 89-80%; 3 (befriedigend), 79-70%; 4 (genügend) 69-60%; 5 (nicht genügend) 59-0%.
