In this course we will take a practical approach to addressing some challenges in the context of secondary teaching (in Austria) posed by English as Lingua Franca. (How) should these challenges be met giving the rising prominence and acceptance of the ELF paradigm? We will start by looking into ELF from a theoretical viewpoint and then move on to aspects of practical application. We will do so mostly in a (guided) group work setting.
