Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Dealing with learner language is an everyday factor in the language classroom, and a linguistically informed approach to it represents an important aspect of language teachers' professional knowledge. This course looks at the language produced by learners of English both as a product and as a reflection of the learning process. We will look at different types of learner language as well as the theoretical and methodological considerations involved in treating it as research data, which will give us the chance to also consider the major theoretical approaches to second language learning.
