Based on the ROAD-MAPPING framework developed for researching and working with EMEMUS, we will approach the topic in three phases, approaching it from a different angle each time, i.e. internationalisation and language policy in higher education, the roles of English and other languages in education, and classroom practices across different academic disciplines. Each of these phases will combine a literature-focused part based on selected readings and an empirical part, in which all participants will collect relevant information from selected HEIs. More precisely, each participant will select one or two HEIs as their research site(s) that they will use for collecting EMEMUS-related data for each of the three phases. By applying research methods introduced in the course, each student will then analyse their own data, share their findings orally in class and write it up in the form of a short research report. Each student’s reports and data make up their moodle-based ROAD-MAPPING portfolio
