Aims, contents and method of the course
In this lecture course students will be introduced to some of the basic skills and competences that will enable them to appreciate and interpret literary texts. By means of a wide range of classic and contemporary English texts, they will be acquainted with the major literary genres as well as with relevant terminologies and with some of the most influential schools of literary criticism.Please register for this lecture on UNIVIS and familiarise yourselves with our Moodle platform (via eGate).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The lecture course aims at providing students with a firm grounding in some of the key concepts of literary theory and criticism, which will qualify them as competent and critical readers with an understanding of different interpretive approaches to literary texts.

Aims, contents and method of the course
This course introduces students to a selection of basic issues in literary studies. It acquaints students with literary terminology and its practical application and provides a survey of the major literary genres and their specific features.

This lecture course aims at helping students become competent readers. By providing them with a critical toolkit the course is designed to enable participants to understand and adopt some of the basic concepts of literary criticism.
